With the dedication of the Matthews Tire team and the backing from our communities, this year’s Oil Change for the Better fundraiser was a major success. Held from July 29 to Aug. 2 and Aug. 5 to 9, 2024, Oil Change for the Better resulted in a $15,000 donation to the Fox Valley Humane Association in Appleton.
Matthews Tire technicians completed an incredible 840 total oil changes across all six locations, with $15 from each oil change benefitting the cause. Recently, Matthews Tire President Trevor Rezner presented Brenda Leick, director of development at the Fox Valley Humane Association, with a $15,000 check.
“We are incredibly grateful for this generous donation and partnership with Matthews Tire,” said Brenda. “This contribution will help cover operational costs and specifically allow us to replace our failed laundry dryers and upgrade our heating and cooling systems. A special thank you to Trevor and all the employees at Matthews Tire for making this great event possible!”
According to Trevor, this year’s decision to fundraise for the Fox Valley Humane Association reflects Matthews’ ongoing interest in supporting animal nonprofits in Northeast Wisconsin. “We are honored to help this great organization and their dedicated efforts to care for animals in our community.”

As a full-service, state-of-the-art animal shelter and resource center, Fox Valley Humane Association (FVHA) serves thousands of people and their pets each year. FVHA works 24/7 to see that no animal need in the Fox Valley goes unmet.
The organization was founded in 1891, making it the second-oldest humane society in Wisconsin. Today, FVHA cares for more than 6,000 pets annually—a number that continues to rise.

About Oil Change for the Better
Oil Change for the Better is an annual charity event held by Matthews Tire. This July was the 13th annual Oil Change for the Better event. Since 2012, Matthews Tire has raised over $120,000 for various local nonprofits, including Make-A-Wish Foundation, The Salvation Army, Disabled American Veterans Transportation Program, Catalpa Health’s Race for a Reason, Big Brothers Big Sisters, Old Glory Honor Flight, Saving Paws Animal Rescue, Walleyes for Kids, Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, Child Care Resource & Referral, SOAR Fox Cities, WisconSibs, Breast Cancer Family Foundation, a variety of local food pantries, Wisconsin Veterans Village Association, Hand-N-Hand of Northeastern Wisconsin, Take ‘em Outdoors and Fox Valley Humane Association.
